Location : Brixton Prison, London.
Commissioned by Bounce Back
The brief was to paint a forest in the area where children and families are searched when visiting Brixton prison, with the aim of reducing children’s trauma. The brief included the decoration of the adjacent room that families cross when leaving the prison. No internet, phone or any other technology was allowed on site.
I created a children friendly environment across three walls, with trees and animals that the children can count. The design took into account pre-existing elements such as notice boards. I decorated the adjacent room, writing the word goodbye in different languages.
